Computers have drastically changed everyone’s lives. Several decades ago people haven’t even known anything about these electronic devices, whereas nowadays even a small child can operate this machine. Almost all modern technology depends on computers, which are used for data storage: files, secret information, bank transactions and else. Computer technology belongs to the fastest-growing industry. Computers of different types and sizes are used by modern society. It is interesting that the first computer was the size of a minibus and weighed almost a ton. Whereas now it can be a small chip the size of a pin. And computer technology is not standing still, it’s rapidly progressing. Soon we might have the computers which will be built-in our glasses, earrings, and other objects. Perhaps, the next generation of computers will have the ability to talk and think just as people do.

Peculiarities of English cuisine

It is thought that English cuisine is not so exquisite and diverse comparing to any other cuisine. Nevertheless, authentic English food is very delicious because it is cooked from high-quality ingredients. Recipes of British cuisine are based on centuries-old traditions.

Main meals

Traditionally, there are 4 meals a day, but nowadays these rules are not strictly followed. There is breakfast in the morning, lunch around noon, afternoon tea and dinner. Afternoon tea is a beautiful English tradition, which appeared in times of Queen Victoria.

Traditional meals

One of the most famous English dishes is fish and chips. This speciality is served in nearly every single pub and consists of a breaded fish with deep-fried chips.

Another renowned dish is full English breakfast which represents a quite substantial meal with fried eggs, bacon, sausage, beans in tomato sauce, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast.

Sundays are famous for Sunday roast with delicious roast beef, boiled vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. 

Festive dishes

For Christmas English people roast whole turkey in the oven and serve it with cranberry sauce. It is usually accompanied by roast potatoes and vegetables. For dessert, they always have Christmas pudding cooked according to the traditional recipe.

The system of secondary education in Ukraine includes primary forms and junior and senior secondary forms. Children usually go to school at the age of 6 or 7. There are some pre-school institutions, like nursery schools or kindergartens, but they are not obligatory. Primary forms comprise 1 to 4 forms. Junior secondary forms comprise 5 to 9 forms. After the 9-th form children can enter technical schools of different types. Those who want to enter higher educational institutions should complete 10-11 forms. Students can also enter higher educational institutions after graduating from specialized colleges or lyceums. They prepare students in different fields, whether the humanities or the sciences. Some of them are organized under the authorities of higher educational establishments. The system of higher education is presented by universities, polytechnic institutes or specialized institutes.

I am sure, in order to have a good job one should know foreign languages. The most widespread languages in the world are Chinese, Spanish, English and some others. But every well educated person in the world speaks English, because it is the language of communication, busi­ness, science and culture.

English is now the most important and widespread language in the world. It is the state language in five countries: Great Britain, Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. English is one of the six official and working languages of the United Nations. It is the second working language in the European Community. In many Asian and African countries, such as India or Egypt, in former British colonies people speak English besides their native one. People also speak English in Europe. English is spoken practically all over the world.

Independent Ukraine has relations with many countries. More and more direct contacts are established with the countries of Europe, with the United States, Great Britain, Canada and other English-speaking countries.
